EACEA aeras of interest

The EACEA designed nine categories of interest to explain the success of the EMJM to the European citizens and stakeholders. We illustrate how the LIVE program contribute to the successful results of the EMJM programs.

Feedback from participants

You can find written testimonials and videos from LIVE alumni who want to share their experiences during the Master LIVE and their passion for vaccinology.

There is also a sway created by LIVE EMA representative with LIVE students and alumni to help LIVE students prospects in their professional lives.

In addition, we have compiled the data of our students to find out what jobs they hold with or without continuing their studies in PhD.

Direct effect on participants and project partners

LIVE students show off their graduate talents in the world according to their country of nationality and work placements:

LIVE is supporting various projects from the LIVE family, carried out by students, Alumni and partners

Practical & reusable resources for the practitioners

During their third semester in Lyon, LIVE students learn to manage reality projects, including one dedicated to MOOC production, supervised by advisors who are educational engineer and LIVE professors and partners. This practical work corresponds to 50% of the two teaching units entitled “Project management” and “Communicating on vaccines and public health” e.g. two MOOCs were built in this frame:

  • Decision Making in Vaccinology
  • Exploring the World of Biotherapies: from Lab to Patient

Research material bringing forward the reflection in the sector

As part of the LIVE Master programme, the students are trained to effectively and independently conduct and report research, interpret results, discuss and draw perspectives as illustrated in their production that includes Master thesis and sometimes publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Community building tools

Since 2015, we have been building tools for our Master LIVE community.

LIVE website
Our first website was launched with the available technology in 2014 and upgraded in the 2023 LIVE website according to

  • the current rules set by EACEA to organize EMJM programme,
  • the evolution of the LIVE programme for the next four intakes
  • the technical advancement of website design.

    VaxInLIVE Symposia

Since 2013, the VaxInLIVE Symposia, organized by the LIVE family, foster exchanges by and for the development of the LIVE partnership and its multidisciplinary fields of interest in vaccinology.

These symposia bring together experts in vaccine communication, research, and manufacturing, as well as alumni and current students of the LIVE program. LIVE students meet alumni and senior experts in vaccinology-related fields thanks to international conferences.

Alumni Associations

Students and Alumni of the EMJM LIVE can join two associations:

The International Vaccinologist Alumni Association (IVAA) created and supported by the LIVE community and beyond. IVAA welcomes members among LIVE Master students, alumni, but also lecturers and partners of the program. IVAA encourages its members to connect and exchange ideas and opportunities within the network and thanks to various events. More information at the IVAA website:

The Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) offers an international professional and personal network for all students and graduates of Erasmus Mundus Master and Doctoral Programmes and also provides a channel of communication with the EACEA of the European Commission. More information at the EMA website:

LIVE-related social network

You can also follow LIVE news on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn.

Partnerships and cooperation

The LIVE website displays a short presentation of each partner and provides updated information about their cooperative activities in the LIVE training program and period of association. Gold partners offer student scholarships and financial support for the LIVE management. The overview of partnership is available at:

The document “Partnership for the LIVE” that details more information about the fruitful cooperation is downloadable on the LIVE website:

Dissemination material

We have created different materials to promote the Master LIVE such as: flyer, logos, poster, slideshow downloadable on the LIVE website

  • The Vaccine Talks collective addresses vaccine hesitancy in France and in the world more broadly, by taking apart specific examples of vaccine misinformation. The dissemination material (website, booklet and video) was created thanks to a reality projects in the frame of the teaching units entitled “Project management” and “Communication on vaccines and public health”.

Organizational and working documents

We have jointly created the set of working documents, downloadable on the LIVE website, to organize the LIVE Master: Accreditation of the three national masters supporting the LIVE, Alumni career booklet, Invited Scholars, Partnership Agreement, Partnership for the LIVE, Student Agreement and Teaching Unit Sheets.

In terms of Learning Management Platform, we started the LIVE programme in 2015 with three LMS (Claroline UJM, Spiral connect UCBL and Moodle UAB-UB-UAntwerpen), then reduced in 2017 to two (Claroline connect UJM-UCBL and Moodle UAB-UB-UAntwerpen). Finally, we jointly harmonized our activities on the Moodle UCBL platform in 2023, opened to all other full partners UAB-UB-UAntwerpen-UJM as well as associated partners whose activities are welcome thanks to secured access.

Others

Two LIVE Master Alumni from the Jenner (2016-2018) promotion have organised and launched the first MSc program in “Veterinary Immunology” in Ethiopia. They consider that their studies in the LIVE Master inspired them to organize a master’s program in veterinary immunology in their own country. Another important driver of the program is the lack of trained professionals in the field of veterinary immunology in Ethiopia. The MSc in Veterinary Immunology at the University of Gondar (Ethiopia) is a 2-year Master program that aims to provide qualified manpower for one of the major sectors of Ethiopian economy – livestock. Skilled specialists coming out of the MSc in Veterinary Immunology would contribute to food security in Ethiopia and other countries, and to the growth of Ethiopian economy.
